From beautiful wool to Queensland cotton, sumptuous silk and the bloom of a delicate flax flower that yields the linen we see and wear every day, the parades are a celebration of design and industry.
Fourteen Queensland designers are featured, including regional labels from Noosa, the Gold Coast, Goondiwindi and Marionvale Station, plus student designs from TAFE Qld, Billy Blue College of Design at Torrens University, and QUT.
Twelve of the fourteen designers are showing for the first time on the Ekka runway. Audiences can expect to see an array of interpretations on the natural fibre theme, floral inspiration throughout the collections, and a riot of tropical colour.
The Natural Fibres Fashion Parades presented by Channel 7 will feature designs from; By Sisterly, Sorority, Lamington Avenue, TradeMutt, Analia, Silk Laundry, Hipland, Cienti, House of Aya, Pink Pineapple, Sacha Drake, Zijde, Mannzilo, and Darb Bridal Couture.
The Australia’s longest-running free fashion parades will be produced by Laura Churchill, Fashion Queensland and hair stylings will be supported by Stefan.
