Competition Overview

First judged in 1979, the Ekka Led Steer Competition has been rated one of the best of its kind in Australia.

Classes cover both live and carcass categories, a schools competition, and an interbreed competition for teams of three led steers.

The Led Steer School competitions showcase the next generation of cattle exhibitors and show the judges why the cattle industry is in safe hands.

If you would like to visit the Beef Cattle at the 2024 Ekka, they will be housed on the Ground Floor of the Large Animal Pavilion.
